Our Story
We founded HH The Bloody Truth after realizing something wasn’t right not just in our own labs, but in the silence that surrounded them.
We come from different worlds, much like Hereditary Hemochromatosis itself. Our careers began in research, media, and public health, but our shared disorder brought us together for a greater purpose.
During the lockdowns, we noticed a sharp divide between what was being said publicly and what was happening behind the scenes. With time on our hands and trust broken, we started digging deeper into Hereditary Hemochromatosis. What else were we not being told?
We each had our own story, misdiagnoses, confusion, even unnecessary surgeries. Like so many others, we were angry that we were training our own doctors. The head of oncology did not even know how to read a basic iron panel, and most don’t. We were medically neglected due to the lack of education.
It started with The Iron Exchange—a community space to share stories and navigate this disorder together. But everything changed when we uncovered published medical journals and research studies, not just on Hemochromatosis but on iron overload and iron mismanagement.
That was the terrifying moment: when we realized that free iron is directly tied to neurological disease.
We were shocked. To be completely honest, it took months to process what we had found before we could share it publicly. It was devastating to learn this wasn’t just about the liver that iron can cross the blood–brain barrier, and that we were personally at risk for neurodegenerative diseases.
We only decided to go public when we found hope in the same research: studies showing how to bind free iron and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Iron, inflammation, and oxidative stress can be a lethal combination, but they can also be addressed.
We began engaging with organizations willing to listen, creating opportunities to push real policy change through our advocacy programs. Because awareness means nothing if it doesn’t lead to action.
The Binding Factor, our first wellness formula, became the foundation of a much broader vision.
The Iron Test Kitchen was designed for people living with iron disorders—because managing this condition should never feel impossible or isolating.
We did not choose this path, it chose us. Telling the truth wasn’t enough; we had to find answers.
Our mission is not to sound alarms or create fear, but to change the outcome.
Welcome to HH The Bloody Truth.
This is where the silence ends—and your journey begins.
