Iron overload but I feel anemic?! 🩸 I’m so tired, my hands are freezing, and my energy is GONE. My iron is high, but I swear I have anemia symptoms. Has anyone else dealt with this?!

YES! My doctor said it’s because high iron blocks other nutrients like zinc & copper. 🤔 👍

Same! It’s like my cells aren’t using oxygen properly even though iron is high. 🧠💤

Try checking B12, Folate, and Copper levels—they can mimic anemia symptoms!

I ate spinach for YEARS thinking I was being healthy… turns out it’s loaded with iron AND vitamin C! 🤦‍♂️ What ‘healthy’ food did you have to cut out after diagnosis?

Dark chocolate! 🍫 I thought it was an ‘antioxidant powerhouse’… Nope. Full of iron. 👍

Same with lentils! I thought they were a great protein source, but they’re sneaky high in iron. 🥣

My brother was diagnosed with HH, so I got tested. My iron is normal for now, but I’m terrified of developing symptoms. What should I do to stay ahead of this?

You’re smart to think ahead! Test your ferritin & transferrin saturation every 6-12 months to catch changes early. 🔍 👍

Start iron-blocking habits now—drink tea with meals, avoid iron-fortified foods, and stay active.

What’s one food you thought was ‘safe’ for HH but later found out it wasn’t?

Spinach! I thought it was fine until I learned it has iron AND vitamin C. 👍

For those of you using The Binding Factor, are you taking it every day or just with iron-rich meals?

I take it with meals that have iron. It works best when paired with food! 👍

That’s what I read too—taking it consistently helps control iron absorption.

It depends on how much iron you get in your diet. I use it when I eat red meat.

What do you eat on phlebotomy days? Some say eat iron-rich foods after, others say avoid them. What actually helps with recovery?

Nope, you’re already losing iron, so keep it low for the day!

I would absolutely not each iron rich foods! After a phlebotomy your body dumps Iron into your bloodstream. I take The Binding Factor right after. I also do an IV. I have green tea with dinner as well. Lock and Block it!
